Letter to L. Frantz

(member of Medina County Democratic Women)

Dear Ms. Frantz, I'm Brooks B., the boy you met at Borders. When I learned that you worked for the Kerry Campaign I was really excited. I was very interested that maybe I could help in the campaign as well. Is there an age level for helping the campaign? I would LOVE to help! I wear the pin you gave me everywhere! I also may be getting a Kerry shirt and a sign for the yard. I watched the convention, and I was amazed with the speech that Kerry gave. I have been on his website and just can't wait to see if I could work on the campaign.

Your Future President,
Brooks B.

Healthcare for Everyone

Hello Kerry Campaign: My name is Tony D'Agostino. I am currently a volunteer in the Medina County Democratic Party in Ohio. I have a suggestion to help get John Kerry and John Edwards into the White House. It is about health care, which I feel needs a change, and I believe that John Kerry can accomplish this. It started with John Kerry’s cutting costs on prescription drugs. I came up with the idea of also adding a few things. What we need to give the health care system is 3 things:

  1. Regulate the prices on prescription drugs and make it possible to get them from Canada.
  2. Regulate the prices of doctor’s services.
  3. In return for the great sacrifice by the doctors and drug companies, eliminate the pain and suffering rewards caused by malpractice lawsuits.

We already regulate prices on bad things like alcohol and tobacco. Now is the time to regulate healthcare and make it’s benefits available to all Americans. I believe that companies that provide, or want to provide, health care to their employees , including government agencies, will push strong legislation to our politicians to get this into effect. The malpractice lawsuits are ruining health care as well. I believe that doctors try their best to make people well, but unfortunately mistakes happen. I know death is inevitable, but I feel that even if my own family suffered a loss by a mistake by a doctor, I would still understand that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. I believe that this is the only way to provide health coverage to all American's.

My suggestions will allow the health care companies to afford to give health care to everyone by restricting doctors and drug companies from gouging health insurance companies on prices for their goods & services. This would trickle down by lowering the prices of health care and make it easier for employers to provide health care.  If these ideas could be included in your health care plan, I believe that people will listen and this will help John Kerry and John Edwards get into the White House.

Sincerely,
Tony Dagostino

The Iraq war is the number one issue that seems to be on the minds of the American electorate. The debates that have been going back and forth on which candidate will do the best in finishing this Iraq war shows we have only one choice. George W. and company (James Baker, Dick Cheney, George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and finally George W. Bush in that order) has said this is going to be a long drawn out war. We are going to have to make a lot of sacrifices, this is not going to be easy, this may take years to accomplish but we will prevail. The cost to American taxpayers is two hundred billion and counting.

John Kerry on the other hand has said that he has a plan to bring our troops home in four years. In my opinion this seem to be realistic with a plan to bring in coalition forces, first and foremost to SHUT DOWN the Iraq borders. This would keep munitions, weapons, infiltration of Talban, al-Qaida forces the supply lines that are causing this war to go on with no end in site. This policy would strangle the insurgent’s supplies and would allow our forces to then go in and clean house. This is a plan and it seems one that will succeed with a lot less loss of lives both coalition and American forces. Will Americas best be living their dreams, four years from now? THINK ABOUT IT!!!! HOMELAND SECURITY, our borders land, sea or air are open to just about anything and anybody. The disaster that hit Florida and other gulf coast states bring to mind, what could happen if group of terrorists infiltrated our country. Last year we had an electrical blackout that shut down the eastern part of the US. What would happen if a group of terrorist put well placed explosives throughout our electrical grid system in remote areas to go off at a particular time. Loss of everything that has to do with electricity, THINK ABOUT IT! I have great concern about our national security and think more should be done about our borders. George W. has done very little, John Kerry I know will do more. This VETERAN will vote for John Kerry.

War Supporters Should Enlist

It is virtually undisputed that the war in iraq is the most unnecessary and elective war in U.S. history.

There were no weapons of mass destruction.  There was no link between Iraq and Al Quaeda.  Give the elective character of this war and the absence of any evidence to support it, supporters of the "war president" have a special obligation to support the war.

All of those who intend to vote for President Bush should back up their vote by strongly encouraging their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, nieces and nephews to enlist.

Given the support for Bush there should be no problem filling the ranks to overflowing for this war and the next.

George Bush and Morals???

This is my response to Catholics that are voting for George Bush because of the abortion issue.

As a catholic I too am against abortion, but when going to the polls I believe that we have to look at all the issues. The president of the United States is not the only one who can change the abortion laws. We have the Supreme Court, the Senate, and Congress who can do that. These are all currently controlled by republicans. Why haven’t they done more?

When I go to the voting booth, I will be thinking about Jobs, Health Insurance, Social Security, education and many other domestic issues.

Mr. Kerry, who is also catholic, does not personally believe in abortion either. He does believe in separation of church and state. He does believe in helping the middle class. He does believe in providing for people who do not have health insurance. He does believe in providing American jobs instead of outsourcing every decent job we have. He does believe in telling the American people the truth.

George Bush believes in Capital Punishment. Texas has one of the highest rates of capital punishment in the nation. George Bush has no problem sending our citizens off to war to die without a specific plan to end the war. When I think of George Bush I DO NOT THINK of high morals. George Bush lied to the American people about weapons of mass destruction. George Bush has lied about the creation of jobs. George Bush lied about no child left behind. He can not admit that he has made any mistakes.

I think as Catholics we can do a lot more to stop abortion on an individual level through social services and education. George Bush has cut finding for both of these avenues. I think that as Catholics we need to quit hiding behind the abortion law and get out there and educate people. Help them to make better choices and know that they have other options. The government is not going to do that for you. George Bush is  not going to do that for you!

When you go to the polls vote for who you think will do the best for America as a whole.

Catholic and Voting for John Kerry.
