Ohioians For A Fair Minimum Wage

Ohioans for a Fair Minimum Wage is in search of volunteers to gather petition signatures at polling locations around Medina County on November 8th. The Coalition is hoping to fill 47 petitions (55 signatures in each petition) in Medina County on Election Day and over 155,000 signatures statewide. These signatures will help put a Minimum Wage ballot initiative on the 2006 November ballot. Such a measure would increase the State minimum wage from $4.25/hr to $6.85/hr. Ohio and Kansas are the ONLY TWO States in the country who have a State minimum wage LOWER than the Federal rate ($5.15/hr).
If you are interested in circulating petitions at a polling location on November 8th, or would simply like petitions to circulate on your own, please contact Kyle McDermott at (216) 214-6112 or by email at kylemcdermott@yahoo.com.
