The Medina County
Committee for Informed Citizens is sponsoring a
town hall meeting on Thursday, August 24, 2006
from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Medina County
Administration Building, 144 North Broadway,
Medina. The topic will be The Political
Implications of the Sermon on the Mount.
This ties in with the need for a living wage
(increase in the minimum wage), the social
security issue, and health care among many
other issues. Rev. Tom Shaw, an ordained
Methodist minister and Democratic candidate for
the 16th Congressional District, will be
speaking as well as Medina County Democrats. If
you believe that the role of faith in politics
is broader than divisive social issues like gay
marriage, then this town hall meeting is for
you. Invite and bring your friends and
family.
Lori Henry Fundraiser hosted by
Mike Todd and Rita Hold on August 30, 2006 for
Lori Henry. The start time is 6:30 p.m.
and the locations is 4420 Nettleton Road,
Medina. The price is $10 per person and
walk-ins are welcome. However, we ask
that people RSVP by August 25, 2006 to one of

Strickland
Fundraiser at Ferrante's Winery with Lee Fisher
The reception will take place at Ferrante's
Winery located in Geneva,Ashtabula County on
September 14, 2006 from 5:30-7:30 PM. The
minimum suggested contribution is $200. For
those donating $500 or more to Strickland for
Governor, they will meet with Lee at a half
hour private reception before the start of the
general reception. They will be listed as
members of the host committee and they, too,
will be entitled to bring a guest to the
private reception. All contributions should be
sent to: John T. DeFazio, 718 N.Market Street,
Lisbon, Ohio 44432. Those who plan to
contribute $500 or more should call me at
330-424-7771 or 330-853-7388 in order to ensure
they are listed as host committee members.
Election laws prohibit the use of corporate
checks. Only personal checks can be
accepted.

The big
news in this week's newsletter concerning the
Governor's race is the fact that the Strickland
campaign threw a very successful fundraiser in
Valley City at the Cherokee Hills Golf Course.
Medina County Prosecutor Dean Holman was one of
the hosts. The event was reportedly the single
biggest fundraising event of the year for the
Strickland campaign.
