Oberlin College - Wilder 101

When
Nov 11, 2005    4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Oberlin College and Community Poets against War invite you attend and/or participate in the Third Annual Veterans Day Reading for Peace on Friday, November 11, from 4:30-6:30 PM in Wilder 101.  As part of a series of ongoing readings sponsored by Poets against War across the nation and around the world as a protest against the ongoing occupation of Iraq, the reading will be conducted as a practice of meditation, in a spirit of peace; in the words of Poets against War, the reading will "make the heavens ring with the power of this protest."

Everyone in the Oberlin community (Oberlin College faculty, staff and students, and Oberlin residents) is invited to participate by reading their own poems or the poems of others for a maximum of five minutes, or simply to come and listen to as much of the reading as you can: we realize that not everyone will be available for the full two hours.

There is a sign-up sheet on Martha Collins's office door in the basement of Rice Hall (Rice 15) which will allow you to sign up for your five-minute slot. If you prefer, you may e-mail martha.collins@oberlin.edu and mention times that you are available to read; she will e-mail you back with the exact time of your reading.

Click on the Related Document, below, for a flyer about the reading, which we invite you to copy and distribute.
