Bush Failures
At the risk of
repeating some of which I have written before,
I have to ask a rhetorical question. How often
would any of us trust again and again anyone,
whatever the relationship, who continually
mislead, misinformed, lacked knowledge, and
showed contempt toward us? If we would not
stand for such treatment from someone we know
personally I would have to ask why US citizens and
legislators are so quiet when in spite of our
shameful
horrendous mess in Iraq our foolhardy President
with urging by an unnamed country and his “guardian” Dick
Chaney now threatens a strike on
Iran. As expected, to
bring disciples on board, Mr. Bush prefaces the
military threat with the age-old double
standard of whom in this world he grants
permission to develop nuclear power. He tells us in
effect, Just believe; I know what they’re up
to, and maybe if they do what I tellem, maybe
we won’t strike. Let’s do a brief
review of our President’s track record: How
about kicking out weapons inspectors from Iraq while they
were still searching for WMD’s. Remember
“Mission Accomplished” on the aircraft carrier?
Then there was the accepted advice from
“Rummy”, “We’re just being temporarily hassled
by a few dead-end thugs.” Or domestically, never
mind the financial cost in Iraq, we still need
to give hefty
tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.
Remember the horrific suffering of Katrina and
“You’re doing a heckova job Brownie”? But in
all fairness, don’t we all know he was so out front in
his knowledge of global warming? I ask again the
same question. Would we put trust in any one of
our acquaintance who exhibited such blatant incompetence
and irresponsibility? If your answer is NO,
I would ask how
can we stand by quietly and permit such
behavior in a President who in spite of our
Iraq tragedy threatens to embroil us in yet
another one? What is left for us
but to embrace the only action at are disposal
and that is to call our US district
representative or US senator and let them know
too much is at stake to allow an unfettered Mr. Bush to
lead us to more destruction. And if we need to
take to the streets, so be it. For your
