Beau's Stance On Health Care Reform

Mr. Cannon states that we already have a system in place for poor Americans to find and provide themselves with health care. He touts the "Savings Account" system (a system where American workers have a portion of their paycheck placed into an account that saves the money until they need it for health care costs) while at the same time admitting that the massive loss of American jobs is unimportant because those jobs are usually staffed with "uneducated people". This is a deliberate attack against the American people by a member of Congress. How, exactly, are people who have no jobs, and are therefore in the most need of health care reform, supposed to pay into a savings account? How can he, with a straight face, say that the system is working when he is responsible for the problem in the first place? Government regulation of any industry is a tricky proposition and must only be taken after very careful deliberation and close study of effective ways to help the situation without upsetting the economy. There are different ways to effect proper control on the Health care industry. The first and most effective would be to effect realistic cost caps for prescription drugs, doctor visits and procedures. The second would be to restructure both the Medicare and Medicaid systems. There should be several layers of entitlement allowing more people to receive the help that they need based on the per capita income of the household most importantly children. Children need unequivocal coverage. There is no excuse for American children to ever have to go without proper health care.
