If you view the media reports on John Roberts, the Supreme Court nominee, you would think he was a moderate.  Here is John Roberts documented record:  He initiated cases to weaken the “Voting Rights Act”. He co-authored 2 briefs arguing court supervision (enforcement) should be lifted in school desegregation cases. He co-authored 2 government briefs arguing the government should limit rights of prisoners and criminal defendants. He co-authored 2 briefs merging religion into government. He wrote 2 law review articles arguing corporations should be protected from obligations to workers. As a newly appointed DC appellate court judge Roberts ruled on July 15. 2005 the government can declare an American citizen is not entitled to legal counsel or a trial by jury.  The court declared the new “Enemy Combatant Policy” which seeks to evade the Geneva Convention is legal. The government can hold people without legal representation indefinitely.

Every single justice needs a respect and be a champion of American freedom, liberty, and citizen rights.  Writing two law review articles arguing corporations should be protected from obligations to workers is simply unjust. Working to weaken the essential right of American citizens to vote is un-American.  John Roberts does not reflect sound judgment. Call Senator DeWine at 216 522-7272 and Senator Voinovich at 216 522-7095; tell them they will loose your vote if they endorse John Roberts.
