November 8th Voting

Fellow Democrats,

After Tuesday, November 8, can there be any doubt of how much work we need to do to begin clearing up the brain washed environment created by the Republicans?  John Gladden, Medina Gazette columnist, speaks to this succinctly in his column of November 15, “In the middle of a state investment scandal voters handed Ohio bureaucrats and politicians a fresh wad of tax dollars to spend on business investments.”

And whose wishes were the voters fulfilling?   None other than our illustrious Governor Taft, ranked among the 3 worst governors in the nation.  Considering how our tax dollars have been invested in rare (or should we call them disappearing) coins this past year and tax dollars that have been stolen outright, it appears this malfeasance has been approved.

However, I have to agree with WVIZ talk show host Dick Feagler, that the extremely complex wording very likely influenced many voters to vote no on Issues 2, 3, 4, & 5 simply because they didn’t understand them.  In some ways it would seem better in that case to abstain, but then, of course, you are handing your vote to someone else.

As to the success of Issue1, it is obvious the lobbying of the Ohio Farm Bureau was the paramount reason for its success.  We know they were the significant force that caused it’s defeat 2 years ago, but reliable sources tell us they were assured generous tax dollars would be spent on agriculture this time around.

As to the malfeasance discussed earlier, nationally and statewide the Republican Party is simply following the old adage, “if it’s workin, leave it be”.

As Democrats, lets be there when moderate Republicans and Independents finally realize arrogance, greed, stonewalling, and malfeasance are not working any more.
